Trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious, internationally-recognized Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sheldon M. Lincenberg is a double-board certified plastic surgeon in Atlanta. In practice for 25 years, Dr. Lincenberg founded his own cosmetic plastic surgery center, Georgia Plastic Surgery, P.C., in 1989.
Dr. Lincenberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and served general surgery residencies at Sinai Hospital in Detroit and University of Illinois Hospitals. Dr. Lincenberg obtained additional experience with the Division of Hand Surgery at the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Lincenberg is a Fellow of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition to our plastic surgery office, he provides services at Northside Hospital in Atlanta and DeKalb Medical Center. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Priestley Society of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association. He has served as president of the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Benevolent humanitarian and community service projects are important to Dr. Lincenberg. In 1998, he founded Kidejapa, a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Kidejapa provides surgical missions and orchestrates a fundraiser for local breast cancer support organizations.
Annually, Dr. Lincenberg organizes surgical teams for a surgical mission to developing countries to correct birth defects and other reconstructive surgery needs of children. The teams have visited Ecuador, the Honduras and the Philippines. In 2010, his team responded to the earthquake in Haiti and performed surgery for one week, in limited conditions such as damaged hospitals, temporary tents and clinics.
In 1995, Dr. Lincenberg created Pink Ribbons, an annual October luncheon and fashion show during Breast Cancer Month to benefit local breast cancer organizations. A runway fashion show is produced by Belk and the event is held at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead. Pink Ribbons benefits the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and the Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. Through the years, Pink Ribbons has raised more than a half-million dollars for breast cancer.
Both local and national organizations have recognized the community service efforts performed by Dr. Lincenberg. These acknowledgements include Atlanta’s 11Alive WXIA-TV Community Service Awards and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s Community Service and Volunteerism Award.
